A post medieval copper alloy wire-work ornament probably dating 16th - 17th century. This object is made from two types of wire, one of a very fine gauge and one of a thicker gauge. The object is bent back on itself, if it were laid flat the shape is similar to that of an oak leaf created from the thicker gauge of wire. At the bottom of the leaf shape the two strands of the wire are twisted 2-3 times. A Post Medieval pottery base from a German Whiteware: Polychrome bird whistle (1575-1625). The fabric is fine buff with a glossy brown, green and yellow lead-glaze, usually with the brown glaze representing the wings and eyes which are further accentuated by scored outlines. Only the base of the whistle is present in this case but originally the body of the bird would have been in the form of a small splayed footed pot with the head and whistle-tube applied. A Post Medieval lead alloy fragment of a boatswain's (bosun) whistle (17th century). The hollow fragment is spherical with a ridged crest and line of pellets on each side of the ridge. The broken edges indicated where this fragment fitted on top of the body of the whistle and part of the crest is missing. Dimensions: diameter: 14.28mm; length: 19.75mm; weight: 6.32g. A Roman copper alloy weight (AD43-410). This is probably a disc-shaped weight. Both sides have the same pattern of a central stamped ‘sun’ motif with radiating arms and four punched dots. Similar weights are illustrated in Crummy (1995:101nos 2511 and 2512). No 2511 has two punched dots in a similar style to this example.
