A plated copy of a Roman silver denarius of Nero (AD 54-68), dating to the period c.AD 60-64 (Reece Period 3). PONTIE MAX TR P [...], EX S[C] reverse type depicting Virtus, helmeted, in military dress, standing left, right foot on helmet among shields; in right hand a parazonium, which rests on his right knee, in left long spear. Prototype of the mint of Rome. cf. RIC I (2nd ed.), p. 151, no. 26ff.
The obverse legend has an error, reading PONTIE instead of PONTIF
