Copper alloy cast double loop sword belt hanger. The buckle dates to between 1500 - 1630 and is oval in shape with a central bar. The buckle has an integrally cast circular suspension loop for use as a sword belt hanger. The loop on this example is set at right angles to the buckle frame indicating a 16th -early 17th century date (during the 14th & 15th centuries, the suspension loop on ths type of buckle, lies on the same plain as the buckle frame). The frame measures 53.8mm length, 39.23mm width and 11.8mm thickness and weighs 11.13g.

Medieval copper alloy knopped mace-head. Studies of copper alloy mace-heads agree a broad date range of between 11th and 14th century, with some central European examples beginning in use as early as the 9th century. The function of these is objects is not entirely clear and although they may have their origins as offensive weapons, the knopped variety of mace-head appears to have evolved into an object used as a ceremonial or ecclesiastical staff fitting. Flint blade, possibly dating to the Mesolithic period. The blade is leaf shaped with a flat tip at the distal end. The tip appears to have some very fine working as does the top left upper face edge and bottom right edge. The lower face has no retouch but there is a pronounced bulb of percussion at the proximal end.

Stone loom weight or spindle whorl. The whorl is shaped from a fine grained sandstone into a flat circular cylinder. There is a central perforation through the whorl which is slightly tapered being larger on one side than the other, a common feature on spindle whorls. The object weighs 21.4g and measures 30.9mm in diameter and 13.6mm in thickness.

Copper alloy worn Roman Headstud brooch dating to the 2nd century. The brooch has a hinge pin mechanism and the remains of a decorative blue enamelled stud at the base of the head (hence the name). On the back of the brooch there is a worn raised ridge which would have extended to become the catch plate although the foot of the brooch has worn away. The brooch weighs 5.3g and measures 28.7mm in length, 15.1mm in width and 8.6mm in thickness.

Copper alloy Roman bow brooch dating to the 2nd century. The brooch is a Thealby type. The brooch has tubular wings with grooves around each one and would have had a hinged pin (although this does not survive). At the top of the head, there would have been a decorative cast head loop although this has broken away. The bow has decorative longitudinal grooves which join together to form a single groove at the moulded foot. The surface of the brooch has been tinned or silvered and part of this surface survives. A gold hammered coin dating from the Medieval period: a quarter noble of Edward III (1327-1377) struck at London, 1363-1369. Treaty Period, Treaty Series, Cross potent initial mark, North 1243. The coin has a diameter 20.84mm, and weighs 1.88g. The form has a simple flat 'S' shaped body with a widened middle section and simplified rectangular terminals to indicate the zoomorphic heads. Copper alloy single bar from a late medieval purse bar frame (late 15th to early 16th century). Medieval purses with a metal bar would have been hung from a belt via a loop on the purse frame. The bar terminates with a globular knop decorated with a cast spiral design (London Museum Catalogue Type B3 which have relatively short bars with no pendant loops to attach the bag (which would have been sewn directly onto the frame). Copper alloy section of a late medieval purse bar frame. Medieval purses with a metal bar would have been hung from a belt via a loop on the purse frame. This object is one half of the metal frame from which the fabric purse would have hung. The bar terminates with a globular knop and at the other end there is a rectangular socket with a hole through it. Copper-alloy Roman Trumpet brooch dating to AD75-175. The head has a single loop on the back through which the spring and pin would have been secured; neither of which survive. The bow widens at the waist where there is a worn moulding of an unidentified form, before tapering to the foot. The catchplate is missing. The brooch is a very worn example of this type. It weighs 8.53g and is 57.74mm long, 27.8mm wide and 11.6mm in thickness.
