Complete d-shaped finger-ring of the mourning/memorial/memento-mori type. The exterior of the ring is heavily worked with deeply incised decoration. A skull is the central motif, to its right a reserve of cross-hatched lozenges, an oval-shaped flower with lozenges at its centre, a reserve of cross-hatched lozenges, a further flower, and a final reserve of cross-hatched lozenges, before returning to the skull. A medieval silver annular brooch. The frame is formed from silver wire, half of which is round in section, while the other half has been formed into square wire, twisted to give the appearance of cabling, with punched decoration running along the twists. There is a constriction for the pin (now missing), at which point the brooch is broken, probably at the point of the original soldering. The brooch is otherwise in good condition. The brooch dates to the 13th-14th century. This is a well-known type of medieval brooch. See SUSS-7AC4AA; HAMP-999097 and DOR-715865 for similar examples. …

A medieval gold finger-ring dating to the period c.AD 1200-1500. The bezel of the ring is rectangular in plan, and in cross-section it widens where it meets the band before narrowing to its flat base. It is hollow, and its upper surface forms a border around a polished rectangular blue gemstone or glass setting within it. The stone exhibits post-depositional damage, comprising a chip to one corner and a diagonal gouge situated slightly off-centre. A gold quarter noble of Edward III (1327-1377) dated to the pre-treaty period AD 1351-61. A more precise identification cannot be achieved due to the wear and condition of the coin. A near complete hollow cast harness fitting / toggle of late Bronze Age or Early Iron Age date (1100-500 BC).
