This circular medal is double-sided, with an image and legend relating to King John III of Sweden on the obverse, and that of his first wife, the queen consort Catherine, on the reverse. The obverse bust faces right, the king wearing a military-style garment and ruff and having a beard which extends to the basal tip of the torso. A copper-alloy miniature toy musket, dating from the post-medieval period. The barrel is of sub-oval cross section with a hollow bore of 4-5mm. The downward-angling handle has a pentagonal cross section and tapers towards a wider 'fishtail' butt. The sub-rectangular trigger guard (there is no trigger) is located on the underside, straddling the handle and butt. At the handle end of the barrel is a circular pan for the priming powder and, in front of this, a rectangular moulding. A copper-alloy frame and pin from a medieval single-loop buckle. The frame is broadly D-shaped, of rectangular cross section, has a pointed pin rest with transverse groove, and an offset axis bar. The distorted wire pin is of circular cross and tapers to a point at its distal end. The proximal end of the pin has been loosely looped around the axis bar. Length: 13.9mm; width: 15.7mm; thickness: 4mm. Weight: 1.7g. Similar buckles were found at Meols, Merseyside, where they were assigned to the late 14th century (Egan, in Griffiths et al 2007: 88, Type 4).

A fragment of a Middle Bronze Age palstave. The piece represents the butt of the implement, to which the head of the shaft would have been attached. The rounded top side extends smoothly into the vertical sides, which are straight and parallel-sided. On both of the palstave's two wider surfaces, each edge is marked by a right-angled flange, the height of which increases towards the bottom. These flanges border the flat central area. A transverse groove separates these two elements, the latter of which is of trapezoidal cross section and has truncated corners at the non-frame end.
