A distorted copper-alloy arm from an early-medieval set of tweezers.
A well-patinated break is located at the apex loop of the tweezers. The surviving arm is of rectangular section at the top and gradually becomes thinner and wider towards the bottom, flaring in its lower third. Decorating the outer surface of this lower portion are five ring-and-dot punchmarks, arranged in an inverted 'T'. The horizontal bottom edge has been deliberately curved inwards, forming one side of the jaws. The lower portion of the piece has become bent into a 'U' shape.
