A probable MODERN IMITATION of an Early-Medieval (Anglo-Saxon) silver penny of Ethelred II (978-1016). Bare headed type, 997-1003 (North 1994, 159, ref: 774). Moneyer Leofman, Canterbury mint.
The coin's weight is too high for an early-medieval issue and its style and quality of execution is poor suggesting it is a modern imitation.
Obverse: +EÐELRED REX ANGLO[ ]; Bare headed bust left
Reverse: LEOF[M]ANM-OCÆNT Voided long cross
Diameter: 22.3mm. Weight: 2.97g.
This coin has been double struck on the obverse and reverse.

A complete Modern copper-alloy and enamelled 'Comrades of the Great War' badge (1917-1921).
The front has an inscription: COMRADES OF THE GREAT WAR around the edge within a blue enameled border and an enamelled red, white and blue Union Jack at the centre. The rear face has a lapel clasp for attachment with the maker’s name: J . R . GAUNT around the edge. Issue number on clasp: 899185.

A Modern cast and pressed copper-alloy skirt lifter (c. AD 1800-c. 1900)
The object is in the form of a pair of cast tongs and each of the two arms has a terminal acorn knop. The arms are encased within a circular sliding double-sided boss or plaque which has a circular free running suspension loop. The outer faces of the bosses have similar pressed decoration consisting of a bird in flight entwined within a wreath.

The device was used to lift the hem of the skirt in order to prevent it from becoming soiled.

An incomplete Modern copper-alloy cap/headdress badge of the 'Isle of Wight Rifles' (c. 1908-1947).
The attachment slider is missing due to a break.
This pressed badge takes the form of a crowned laurel wreath having at its centre the Tower of Carisbrooke Castle within a circlet inscribed 'ISLE OF WIGHT RIFLES'. Above the circlet is a scroll inscribed 'SOUTH AFRICA 1900·01'. Below the circlet is a scroll inscribed 'PRINCESS BEATRICE'S'

An incomplete Modern solid lead alloy toy horse (1890-c. 1920).
The mounted rider, the tail and the lower part of each leg is missing.
The horse's right leg is raised giving the impression that it is in a trotting posture. The head is turned to its right but it may have been bent into this position. There is an ornate saddle with a saddle flap, a shabraque, a blanket roll to the rear of the saddle and a belly girth. A hole drilled in the saddle for the attachment of a rider is a feature of Continental toy soldiers. The rider may have been a cavalryman or a hussar.

The animal is in a standing position with head in a butting pose and tail raised.
The horns are horizontal and the eyes and ears are well defined. The body is slender and the top of the buttocks have a casting seam which is just visible. The tail is raised forming an 'S' shape. This object is square in plan, slightly convex at the front and flat at the rear. Close to one corner a circular hole has a diameter of 2.3mm. The front has a matt greenish buff unclear design which is surrounded by blue enamel. The rear face is largely reddish brown with splashes of blue enamel.

A complete Modern copper-alloy harness fitting/distribution loop (c. 1800-c. 1950).
This fitting has an oval-shaped frame which is oval in cross-section and measures c. 55.0mm in length, 33.3mm. At one end there is an integral pear-shaped knop which is oval in cross-section. Extending from this knop is an integral roughly 'D'-shaped loop which is at right angles to the other loop and is fixed (not swivelling). This loop measures 21.0mm in length and 27.0mm in width. Both loops are oval in cross-section.

This button is circular in plan, the centre being concave at the front and convex at the rear. The edge is flat. At the front, an inner and outer beaded circle contains the inscription:

The centre of the button has four sewing holes in a square formation creating a lozenge shape at the centre.
There are traces of gilding at the front and rear.

The element is oval in plan, flat at the front with a soldered attachment loop at the rear. The front has an engraved (or perhaps cast) depiction of a ciborium or chalice which is cross-hatched and beaded. The lid is surmounted by a cross. At the front there is a zigzag border at the edge of the element.
Length: 16.6mm; width: 12.4mm; thickness: 1.3mm; thickness including loop: 5.7mm. Weight: 1.46g.
