A complete, misshapen and slightly damaged post-Medieval gold mourning posy finger-ring of late 17th century date. Treasure case no. 2012 T539. The hoop is D-shaped in cross-section and the outer face has an engraved human skull. Inside the hoop an inscription in lower case reads: 'Not dead but sleepeth' The phrase is followed by the owner's initials in serifed capitals: 'KA' and a stamped maker's mark: 'R'. The maker's mark is very close to that on British Museum ring 1961,1202.421, where it is noted that the mark appears on the 1682 mark plate at Goldsmiths' Hall. …

An almost complete post-Medieval lead alloy weight adapted from a copper-alloy animal 'crotal' bell (1600-1800). The sub-rectangular suspension loop at the top is 8.0mm high, 11.8mm wide, 4.1mm thick and has a circular perforation. The upper and lower hemispheres are divided equally by a horizontal circumferential joining rib. At either side of the suspension loop, about half way down the side of the upper hemisphere, is a circular sound hole. Fragment of a silver posy ring of late sixteenth or early seventeenth century date (AD 1575 - AD 1625). Treasure Case no. BM2005 T431 (disclaimed). Length 21mm, width of hoop 5mm. Weight 0.72g. The hoop is decorated on the outside with alternating motifs in relief: an oak leaf (probably) and an acorn (possibly). The "acorn" is set within an oval frame. The inside of the hoop is inscribed in serifed capitals with the last letters of the word virtue. [VI]RTVE is followed by a cross saltire. The breaks are old.

A slightly misshapen Medieval gold finger-ring with a blue cabochon setting (c. 1300-c. 1400). Treasure case no. 2019 T339. The bezel and setting are hexagonal in plan and taper towards one of the shoulders. Both shoulders taper towards the hoop and each has three triangular bevels. The central of these bevels points upwards and the flanking bevels point downwards. A complete Early-Medieval (Anglo-Saxon) glass polychrome opaque bead (c. 480-580). The bead is cylindrical, flat at each end and has a central circular hole through its centre. It is made of three colours; acid yellow, olive green and white. The three colours have been blended and form wavy bands of alternating colours thus: yellow/green/white/green/white/green/yellow/green.
