A post-Medieval copper-alloy unidentified object which has been adapted from a Fourth Issue penny of George III (1760-1820), minted at the Soho mint, Birmingham and dated 1806 on coin. Spink: 3780.
Obverse: GEO[RG]IVS III D G RE[X] 1806; Bust, laureate draped right.
Reverse: [BRITANNIA]; [Britannia seated left].
Diameter: 34.0mm. Weight: 15.88g.
The coin has been adapted for another use. There is an off-centre circular hole with a diameter of 9.9mm. There are two further circular holes which are almost diametrically opposed. These have a diameter of about 2.8mm.

This fragment is the lower part of the blade including the cutting edge. There is a transverse break at the top where the base of the socket is present. In side view it is roughly 'V'-shaped.
The surface is lost due to corrosion except where a thick light brown patina survives.

A complete and slightly corroded Medieval copper-alloy circular uniface coin-weight for a gold noble (1412-1464).
One side has a raised design depicting a single masted and standing rigging clinker built ship (cog) left, with a lis above the fore castle and a lion passant guardant above the after castle. The design indicates it is for the noble or its fractions, Withers and Withers (1995:19) describe such weights as British and dates them to the 15th or 16th centuries. Its weight suggests it may have been for a full noble of the 15th-century, produced at 108 grains from 1412 to 146…

The pin and plate are missing.
The frame is sub-triangular in cross-section, flat at the rear, with the outside edge wider than the strap bar. The frame is bevelled internally and externally at the front. A large lobe at the centre of the outside edge is in the form of a stylised scallop shell. At the junctions of the outside edge and the sides there is a smaller lobe or knop. These smaller lobes project at angle of about 45°.

The frame is moulded at the front, flat at the rear and both loops are similar in size and shape. Both outside edges have a rosette at the centre. The narrowed bar is triangular in cross-section, flat at the rear. There is a small knop at each end of the bar.
This buckle frame is drab green with some black lacquer on both faces.

An incomplete Roman copper-alloy and enamelled symmetrical plate brooch (c. AD 100-200). Bayley and Butcher 2005: 176-177, ref: T227.
The brooch is lozengiform in plan, with a stepped profile of three tiers, the uppermost forming a recessed cell retaining traces of white enamel over white ?cement. There is no surface treatment.
The rear face is concave at the centre with the vestigial remains of two pin lugs and a catch-plate.
This brooch is in poor condition and the breaks are old.

An incomplete Roman copper-alloy trumpet derivative brooch (AD 75-175).
The leg, pin, catch-plate and most of the chain loop are missing.
The semi-circular head-plate is convex at the front and concave at the rear and has an incomplete solid integral chain-loop at the top. At the front of the head-plate there is a stepped flange on the sides and top of the outer edge. The integrally cast semi-cylindrical wings house an iron axis bar for the hinged pin mechanism.
