A complete Iron Age or Roman copper-alloy button and loop fastener, dumb-bell shaped in form (c. 200 BC-c. AD 100). The head or toggle is a circular sectioned transverse bar which bears two deep, circumferential grooves between the terminals. The expanded terminals each have a flat end and their inner edges have circumferential incised grooves. The projecting loop is 90° to the plane of the head and has a central groove extending from the heart-shaped opening to the rear of the head. A slightly misshapen Medieval gold finger-ring with a blue cabochon setting (c. 1300-c. 1400). Treasure case no. 2019 T339. The bezel and setting are hexagonal in plan and taper towards one of the shoulders. Both shoulders taper towards the hoop and each has three triangular bevels. The central of these bevels points upwards and the flanking bevels point downwards. The shoulders, including the portion beneath the bezel, may be hollow as breaks can be seen where the bezel joins the hoop and also at the edges of the shoulders. An incomplete post-Medieval copper-alloy double-looped buckle (c. 1550-c. 1650). One loop and the pin are missing. The surviving loop is an elongated oval shape with a plain outside edge. There are lobed knops on the top and bottom edges and the upper face of each knop has a small circular pit/indentation. The rear face is plain. The bar is sub-oval in cross-section. A Medieval copper-alloy sexfoil mount with a separate rivet (c. 1400-c. 1450). This domed mount is made of sheet copper-alloy and is concave on the underside. The front has six evenly spaced 'teardrop' facets. Close to the edge are two rivet holes which are opposite each other. One contains a copper-alloy rivet with a copper-alloy rove. An almost complete Early Bronze Age copper-alloy flat axehead (c. 2200 BC-c. 1500 BC). This implement is sub-triangular in plan. It has a rounded butt and a curving cutting edge where a small portion is missing. Mid-way along its length there is a low transverse 'stop'. The sides of the septum and blade have been hammered up to form very low flanges. In side view it is pointed-oval. This axehead is drab green and is corroded overall. Length: 77.0mm; width: 29.4mm; thickness at 'stops': 7.8mm; thickness including flanges: 8.9mm. Weight: 59.44g.
