A complete post-Medieval copper-alloy Tombac (‘dandy’) two-piece button (c. 1700-c. 1800).
The button is flat at the front with a down-turned edge and is concave at the back.
The front is decorated with an engraved stylised flower head consisting of six petals interspersed with six sepals. There is a ‘star’ motif at the centre. A complete and separate iron attachment loop at the back is bent to one side.
This button has a high white metal content and the loop is corroded.
Diameter: 27.1mm; thickness: 2.4mm; thickness including loop: 9.1mm. Weight: 6.05g.

The shank and rim are missing.
This button is roughly circular in plan. At the centre a large pellet is surrounded by a circle of two interwoven strands of rope. These are enclosed by a circle of thirteen scarab-like or insect-like motifs. The rear face is plain and at the centre there is the stub of an integral shank. The outer edge is uneven due to breaks or corrosion.

This button is moulded at the front and flat at the back except for the attachment loop. The front has a sunken heraldic shield bearing the charge of three cannon pointing left (one above the other) on a horizontally fine-lined ground, with three bezants above. A complete post-Medieval copper-alloy two-piece button of the 21st (Royal Scots Fusiliers) Regiment of Foot (c. 1877-c. 1881). Formerly the 21st (Royal North British Fusiliers) Regiment of Foot.
This button is circular in plan, domed at the front and concave at the back. The front has a raised design depicting a crown over '21' with a thistle to either side. It has a copper-alloy wire attachment loop at the back. Adjacent to the loop there is a raised letter 'S'.
This button is in good condition, except that some of the gilding has worn off at the front and back.

This button is hexagonal in plan. The upper face is conical and the underside is concave, although the underside is now partially filled with iron corrosion. On the upper face there are six segments or facets. At the centre of the underside are the remains of a separate iron loop.
The button has a white metal coating at the front.
