A piece of thin copper alloy sheet, probably a short length of binding strip from an early Anglo-Saxon bucket. The sheet is roughly rectangular in shape, but two opposite edges (the longer edges) are torn and badly damaged. The other edges (the short edges) are decorated with stamps of incised double rings, the stamp probably held at an angle to produce a dot and crescent motif. Two holes have been punched through the plate, one smaller than the other, both off centre. The plate is a mid brownish-green colour.

A cast copper-alloy suspension ring, probably from a hanging bowl of early-medieval date. It is circular, with a slightly flattened but circular cross-section. The outer edge of the ring has a groove cut into it. On one surface of the ring there are three sets of bands of parallel incised lines, set at roughly regular intervals around the ring. 28 sherds of handmade Bronze Age to Early Iron Age pottery, weighing in total 338g. The sherds are mainly body sherds, but one large rim sherd does survive. It has an inverted rim. The pottery is undecorated. It has chalk tempering, which has largely leached out, therefore resulting in the production of lots of holes in the matrix of the clay. The pottery is a coarse ware, which has been lightly fired in a clamp fire, rather than a kiln.

A cast copper-alloy hooked escutcheon plate and copper-alloy suspension ring from an early-medieval hanging bowl. The escutcheon plate is oval and has an openwork design formed from scrolls. There are three incised, parallel lines down the spine of the escutcheon. At the end of the lines, at one terminal, there is a small rounded lobe. Opposite, on the other terminal there is a large, heavy-duty hook in zoomorphic form, with its terminal possibly representing the head of a lion or a dog. The ears are very obvious, but the other features have been stylised and drawn with inci…

A cast copper alloy highly decorative object, probably a handle from a bronze/ copper alloy vessel. The object was taken to the British Museum where Jody Joy (Iron Age curator) and Ralph Jackson (Roman curator) felt that it dated from the very end of the 1st Century BC to the early part of the 1st Century AD. It is therefore very late Iron Age to very early Roman in date. They noticed that the style is Roman (especially the creature's eye) but the metal working style looks Iron Age. Some similar vessel handle and fitting were found in a German publication, but the best parallel can be…

The surface of this find is very corroded and worn. Its surface is very corroded and worn but would have had a polished dark green patina, though most of this has now worn away exposing the surface below, which is a mid blackish-green colour. The broken edges are all extremely worn and corroded. There appears to be some evidence of burning on the external surface of the vessel, as it appears to be covered in a layer of charcoal.

A small base sherd of (probably) mid medieval pottery, dating from the 11th – 12th century. The sherd has frequent chalk and sand inclusions. It is probably the base of a cooking pot. It is however hard to be certain because of the size of the sherd, therefore it could be late Iron Age to Early Romano-British. The sherd is partly abraded.
