A complete waste flint flake of Mesolithic to Neolithic date. The flake retains the bulb of percussion and striking platform and bulb scars can also be seen. The dorsal surface has had multiple flakes removed from the surface. The flake tapers to a point at the terminal, the terminal proper has chipped off. The flint has a light greyish-white patina, 10% of the surface is coated in cortex.

Two Mesolithic to Neolithic flint blades and a Neolithic elongated thumb scraper. All three have had previous flakes removed from their surfaces and are at least twice as long as they are wide. The thumb scraper has been finely worked, and has a rounded terminal, it appears to have been bi-facially worked. These flints have been recorded from a photograph, so no measurements or weights were recorded. The FLO has not seen the flints. Only one surface has been photographed. They were found by a Forestry Commission worker.

A lithic implement of Neolithic date, it appears to be the rough out of a leaf shaped arrowhead. The object is oval in shape and has a flat section. Both surfaces have been heavily worked with shallow flakes being removed from both surfaces. The striking platform, bulb of percussion and ripples of percussion have all been removed by later working. The flint is a light whitish-grey colour with some lighter flaws. There are no signs of cortex re-growth.

A worked piece of flint flake, resembling the shape of a Neolithic leaf shaped arrowhead, but the working is too crude to be an arrowhead. The length of this artefact is more than twice the width and the sides are rounded and worked. The bulb of percussion and striking platform have both been removed, there is some evidence of retouch along the length of the flake. There is a large flaw in the matrix in the flint, which would have rendered this flake as useless. The flint is a light whitish-grey colour with some lighter flaws.

The surviving object is therefore D-shaped, with a D-shaped section. The edges show signs of being worked. The dorsal surface is flat and the worked edge is fairly shallow. The striking platform and bulb of percussion have been removed, but the ripples of percussion can still be seen. The flint is a light whitish-grey colour with some lighter flaws. There is an area of cortex remaining within the tool.

A small Neolithic thumb scraper, designed to be held between your thumb and forefinger. The scraper has a shallow plano-convex section, with one rounded side and one convex. It has an overall lozenge shape. It has been formed from a dark reddish-bron flint. The bulb of percussion and striking platform are both present, but badly damaged. THe retouch is steep. Scrapers like this would have had many different functions in the Neolithic, as they were very useful tools, used for example for skinning animals, removing the fatty deposited from hinds and much more.
