Double-conical lead weight with central vertical perforation, 8.8mm wide. The weight is decorated in high-relief on both sides with a zig-zag line, with a pellet in each angle. This kind of lead weight is a very frequent metal-detecting find, especially on ploughed and pasture land. There is some archaeological evidence for these lead weights to have been used as spindle whorls in the 16th/17th century (pers. comm. Dr Kevin Leahy), but has been suggested that they could also have been used as net sinkers, fishing weights or weight for traps at a somewhat later date.

A small weight made of lead. The weight is triangular, with rounded corners, and it is flat. The weight is undecorated. The lead has gone a light greyish-white colour. Some damage has occurred to the weight as a result of being hit by the plough, as several scratches and scars are evident on the surface of the weight. This weight is possibly medieval, but most probably post-medieval in date. Due to that fact that so few lead weights have been found in archaeological contexts, only a very broad date range can be allocated.

A cast lead shield-shaped trader's weight of late medieval to early post-medieval date with a central raised crowned fleur-de-lis design and a wide, flat border. Lead shield-shaped weights of varying qualities of workmanship and numerous designs have been in use over a long period. Examples with official marks from the 17th, 18th, and 19th centuries are recorded. Although this weight may be earlier than this, there is no firm evidence as to when these weights with crowned fleur-de-lis were in use.
