A cast copper alloy object, which is probably some sort of weight. The object is roughly rectangular in shape, with one tapering terminal, which tapers to a blunt point. The other terminal is flared, but has a butt end. There is a large hole through the object, possibly once used for suspension. The metal is heavily corroded and is a mid brownish-green colour. The object is likely to be post-medieval in date.

There are three makings on the weight including a ewer, one of the London marks of 1590-1826. This is postioned at a 5 O'clock position. A complete cast copper-alloy cup weight of post-medieval date. The weight is circular and flat with a square raised rim. An incised circular border runs around the interior of the raised rim. The reverse is flat with a central depression. The front of the weight is decorated with a pair of concentric double rings and a central incised ring. These have been over stamped with a cross and a fleur de lys. The metal has a dark brownish-green patina and is worn.

A complete cast copper alloy Roman steelyard weight in the form of an acorn. The upper body is tapering slightly in the form of an acorn. Two incised collars around the weight indicate detail. At the top is a large circular loop. The weight is a mid greyish-brown and it is heavily pitted. It would have been hung from a set of balances via a small chain. It is difficult to find excavated parallels, but a similar example is known from 'Ancient Brooches and Other Artefacts, (Hattatt 1989, 472 -473, ref: 172).

A cast copper alloy object – possibly a weight. The object comprises a long conical shaft decorated with eight collars of varying thicknesses, the shaft tapers to the top, it has a flat base. A loop has been cast integrally to the top of the object - some iron corrosion can be seen inside the loop. The metal is a mid jade-green colour. It is possibly late medieval to post-medieval in date. A very similar object was recorded in Beddingham (East Sussex) see PAS database Number: SUSS-51A053.

Viking-age weight made from copper alloy with an iron core. The weight is roughly globular, with some flattened facets. One of the flattened facets is decorated with a ring made up of small stamped circles. Inside the ring is a swastika motif, but part of the motif has worn away revealing the brassy colouring of the metal. Opposite this there is a large lump of cracked and damaged copper alloy. The central motif inside the base of the weight is a double circle, with a ring in the centre. No other marks are visible. The reverse of the weight is decorated with a wide ring. The metal is a light greyish-green colour and is very worn and pitted. The weight is 53.9mm in diameter, 8.2mm thick and weighs 105g which is 3 and 3/4oz.
