TREASURE CASE : 2007 T376 pt 1 Dirham fragment On the basis of the evidence the Dirham fragment does not appear to have come from the same deposit as the finger-ring fragments (2007 T376 pt 2) and as such falls outside the provision of the Treasure Act of 1996. Treasure case : 2006 T426 This case concerns a silver penny in the name of Cynethryth, wife of Offa, king of Mercia (757-96). Under the terms of Treasure Act (1996), a single coin would not normally constitute Treasure. However, the coin comes from the same site as a hoard of coins found between 1991 and 1997. Two parcels of this hoard were declared to be Treasure Trove, and this coin would therefore count as Treasure as an addendum to the earlier hoard, as long as it can be established that the coin does come from the same hoard.
