An incomplete, but elaborate cast copper alloy headstud brooch of Roman date. The wings of the brooch are rectangular in shape and decorated on the front with three vertically incised lines. The reverse of the wings is hollow, but a central loop can be seen through which the pin mechanism would have been held. There is a head loop just above this also. The head tapers to the bow and features the headstud. The headstud has a ring and dot motif, the ring has been infilled with a dark red enamel. The central area is raised to create a stepped-up inner section, which is also circular and flat. This area is hollow on the reverse. Worked boar or pig tusk, probably from the Roman period. This object is very similar to ESS-BAE7D1. This tusk has been damaged and is split. The tusk is missing its pointed tip. The tusk is C-shaped with a bottom heavy lozenge shaped section. It has a light whitish-brown colour. Boars tusks were used as amulets by the Romans, as not only did they posses the properties of the boar but also represented the crescent moon which was associated with Diana, goddess of hunting, virginity and childbirth. A complete cast copper alloy buckle frame of medieval date. The buckle frame is a single loop D-shaped buckle with a lipped frame and a narrowed and offset strap bar. The upper surface is chamfered, while the reverse is flat. The lip is notched to recieve the pin. The pin is missing. The surface of the buckle retains a coating of silvering or tinning, but most of it has flaked off. The metal is a mid silvery-grey colour and is worn. Buckles of this type date to circa 1250-1450. A similar example can be seen in Whitehead, p.20, no.72.

An incomplete copper alloy hooked tag of post-medieval date. All that remains of the tag is the rectangular attachment loop and the wide openwork moulded design. There are raised floral knops, at the the junction where the loop meets the main plate. The main plate features a floral design, with a central pellet and a raised cross. The hook no longer remains, as it has broken off. The reverse is flat and undecorated. The metal is a mid brownish-green colour and is worn.

A complete cast copper alloy, hooked clothing fastener. The hooked tag has an openwork main plate, with a double rectangular aperture and moulded outer edges. There is a small prong either side of the hook. The hook extends down from the centre of the main plate, it is complete and bend around on itself to form the hook. The clothing fastener is in good condition and is undamaged. The metal is a dark greenish-brown colour. These clothing fasteners come in various shapes and sizes.

An incomplete cast copper alloy brooch of Roman date. This example is probably a Thealby type headstud variant dating from the 2nd century AD. From the reverse of the head the tubular hinge mechanism is complete with the axis bar but the pin is missing. The wings are short and tubular, both constrict slightly in the centre, before expanding into two collars. This bracelet has been formed from a strip of copper alloy that has a D-shaped cross-section. The bracelet has an incised decoration on the upper surface. A fragment of a cast copper alloy vessel of medieval to post-medieval date. The fragment is part of the leg of a cooking vessel. The leg has a flat base and a slightly curved, upright back. The foot is wide, with two ridges up the front, resembling claws. The metal is a dark greenish-brown colour and is slightly worn and pitted. The fragment weighs 65g. These vessels date from 1350-1850 and would have been used as a cooking vessel.

A cast lead alloy stud (pewter). The front face of the stud is off-square with a raised relief design on the front. There is a central circle decorated with an incised cross-hatched design. Around this there the raised motif of a Tudor rose. It has been designed to fit inside a square. The reverse of the stud is flat and features two attachment spikes, one of which has broken. The metal is a mid silvery-grey colour. This stud dates to the 16th - 17th Century.
