A complete cast copper alloy ring, possibly an Iron Age baldric ring or strap fitting. The ring is circular, with a circular section. The lower half of the ring shows signs of wear, presumably where the strap has rubbed on the metal. Attached to the upper part of the ring, on one side is a disc shaped button, it projects outwards from the ring at a right angle. The disc is largely flat, but is slightly rounded. A rectangular seal matrix with what is probably a Trader's Mark design. The intaglio is not cut very deep and therefore it is difficult to obtain a clear interpretation of the impression. The suspension loop which is not pierced has a double collar below terminating in a gradually tapering handle above the base. Measuring Height 20mm. Intaglio: 10.4mm x 9.5mm.
