A cast copper alloy pot leg from a copper alloy vessel. The fragment consists of the foot and part of the leg. The object is triangular in section. There is a rounded, prominent ridge running up the centre of the front of the leg. The foot has a rounded collar around it, but it is only on the front and sides, the reverse of the leg is flat. The surface is extremely pitted and worn, as is the break. It has a mid brownish-green patina. Due to a lack of context it is not possible to closely date this object, although it is medieval to post medieval in date.

A bronze (copper-alloy) pot leg from a large cooking or storage vessel, dating from the late medieval to post-medieval period (circa 1350 - 1850). The fragment may have been part of a cauldron or similar large vessel. The leg tapers to the foot, with a tri-lobate section. The front of the leg is formed from three lobes, with a prominent central ridge. The foot is missing. Where the leg would have been attached to the vessel, the break is worn and corroded. The reverse of the leg is flat. The leg is a mid greenish-brown colour, but the surface is heavily pitted and very corroded.

A fragment probably from a cast copper alloy heart shaped chaffing dish handle. Chafing dishes were domestic utensils made of metal or earthenware for holding burning charcoal or other combustible material. This was then used to cook food or keet it hot at the table (Lewis, 1973).
This type of dish dates from circa 1450 – 1550. The vessels themselves were cast in one piece and finished on a lathe. Each vessel would have had two handles. The inverted heart shaped handle would have hung down from a simple staple. Only half of the heart-shape survives with a knop on one terminal, sti…

A cast copper alloy figurine bust in the form of the goddess Minerva.
The object is in a good state of preservation although the surface is rather worn and pitted obscuring some of the finer details. The face of Minerva is particularly worn but the general mouldings clearly show that she was shown life-like, facing forward with curls of hair visible beneath the helmet along the forehead and the hair goes around the sides of the head. Her nose has been lost, through wear and corrosion. Her chin is delicate and her eyes are basic.
Minerva wears a high Corinthian helmet with a large cr…
