A fragment of very fine and well finished Neolithic to early Bronze Age lithic object. It has been fire cracked and both ends are broken.
The object has an oval section, with chamfered sides. It has been heavily knapped. The flint has a light whitish-grey patination. Multiple flakes have been removed from the surface of the knife and the edges appear to have been heavily polished. No natural cortex survives and the internal flint is the same colour as the outer patinated surface. There are some flaws within the make up of the flint. A small thumb scraper dating from the Neolithic period (circa 3500 – 2100 BC).
The bulb of percussion and striking platform both survive on the ventral surface and the ripples of percussion can be seen. Flakes have been removed from the dorsal surface before this flake itself was removed, forming shallow arrises. The heavily retouched edge (the cutting edge) is steep, forming the characteristic thumb scraper.

The arrowhead has been knapped out of flint and then pressure flaked. The arrowhead has been bifacially worked into an arrowhead shape. This type of arrowhead dates from the Neolithic to Bronze Age (circa 2500 – 1500 BC). The arrowhead is damaged resulting in the loss of the tip. Percussion ripples are evident.

It has been formed from a light brownish-grey flint. The bulb of percussion and striking platform have both been removed, but the ripples of percussion are still evident. There are many shallow arrises. The upper half of the dorsal surface has been heavily retouched, forming a scraper end. The retouch is steep and elaborate.
