A cast copper alloy trapezodial buckle frame with an integral plate. The frame has a single loop, the outer edge of which leans inwards. The front plate has been cast integrally to the buckle, it is rectangular, but tapers to the end. There is a depression next to the 'strap bar', two copper alloy rivets sit side by side in the centre (one on each edge) and a third rivet can be seen at the terminal. These three rivets hold the back plate in place as it is otherwise loose, the back plate is damaged. It is a light brownish-green colour and is worn. It is medieval in date.

A handmade, rectangular bone buckle, with an intact strap bar. The front surface of the buckle has bevelled edges, but the reverse is flat. The frame is uninterrupted; so therefore has no pin recess. The bone has been crudely cut. It could be early-medieval in date but a later modern date can not be ruled out. The shape of the buckle resembles a fastener similar to those used to fix a military badge to a hat, or to fasten cuffs.
