A fragment probably from a silver medieval to early post-medieval buckle, 13th - 16th Century in date. The fragment is formed from a rectangular plate, which has had two of its corners cut off on one side. On the other side, there are extensions off from the plate. One survives for only a short distance and is itself broken. The other extension at the other end of the plate has broken off level with the plate. A nearly complete silver Post Medieval openwork stock buckle dating to 1720-1790 AD. The finder originally found the buckle chape in two pieces and then subsequently discovered the buckle frame within close proximity to the earlier discovery (see below). The buckle frame is rectagular in shape, with thicker outer edges protruding slightly into the inner frame space; at this position, the remains of a copper alloy pin are visible on the outer and inner edges.
