An incomplete Roman Colchester derived brooch, from the 1st century AD. The brooch has been wrought from copper alloy. The bow is long and tapering. The spring mechanism does not survive. The pin is also missing. The metal is very worn and very corroded. The surface is pitted. The metal has a light reddish-green colour. This brooch is similar to examples in Hattatt, 2000, pp297, Fig. 156.
