A cast copper-alloy ansate brooch, with an arched back with an equally sized fan-shaped terminal on either end. The arched back of the brooch is decorated with three prominent ridges. Below the terminals there is a catchplate on one side and a double lug on the other. The remains of an iron pin can also been seen, but is heavily corroded. Ansate brooches are in origin a Frankish type, used in France from the 7th century onwards. They do not appear in England until the 8th century, and they appear to go out of use in the 10th century.

Most of the brooch survives, but part of the spring and the the whole of the pin are missing. The undecorated wings survive intact. A cast copper alloy annular brooch. The brooch frame is circular, with a lozenge-shaped section and a bevelled edge. There is a pin constriction. The pin remains intact and in situ; and sits inside the pin constriction. There is no pin recess on the opposite edge of the frame. Neither surface of the brooch appears decorated. A similar brooch can be seen in Egan & Pritchard, p249, 1309. It is therefore medieval in date.

A cast copper alloy object, surviving in two pieces. The object could be a Roman bracelet, but it is more likely to be a medieval brooch. The object is formed from a twisted strip of copper alloy wire. There is a step in the strip - which could indicate that that is a pin construction and therefore the object is a brooch. The metal is a dark brownish-grey colour.

An incomplete cast copper alloy plate brooch. The brooch is heavily corroded and damaged. It is therefore difficult to say for certain how old this brooch is. It is possibly post-medieval in date but a Roman plate (2nd century) can not be ruled out. The brooch is roughly circular in shape, though heavily corroded and damaged. No decoration can be seen on the front surface. The reverse still houses the double lug and a small square catchplate. It is the widely spaced double lug which puts a question mark over the Roman date, as they were normally closer together in the Roman period…
