An incomplete cast copper alloy 1st century AD, Polden Hill variant type brooch. The brooch has a spring mechanism, held in place by an external chord but the chord is now missing. The spring is heavily corroded.
The head proper of the brooch comprises the short wings, which the spring sits behind. Each wing has been decorated with a vertical groove. The bow is long and tapering. The head is very prominent.
