The loop or frame is square in plan and narrows to a triangular neck before expanding to the rectangular plate. The pin has broken off from the base plate above the loop that would have wound around the pin bar. Tinned cast copper alloy double loop buckle frame with oval, almost heart-shaped loops in plan which are D-shaped in section with steep internal bevelled edges. There are trefoil mouldings divided by two deep grooves on the outer edge of each loop and either side of the strap bar. The strap bar is narrowed and trapezoidal in section and the pin is missing. There are patches of tinning on the upper face and on the back of the frame, but the surface is quite pitted form corrosion. Whitehead (1996) illustrates a similar example on p.64, no.396, which is dated from c.1550-1650.
