Incomplete copper alloy hooked strap end with complete hook but missing the opposite end where the rivet holes would have been to attach the hook to an item of clothing. The upper face of the tag is inlaid silver wire that has been fired into the green enamel which has since slightly worn away leaving the wire to sit proud of the surface. The wire is scrolled into opposing ends in an 'S' shape and there appears to be the impression of another 'S' above it where the wire is now missing at the broken end. Below the enamelled section, the tag tapers towards the hook which is divided by t…

Base fragment of a large cast copper alloy bell which has broken along the slit between two circular holes, producing a 'dumbbell' shape in plan, with half of one of those holes still extant. Above the slit is an incised linear border and part of the semi-circular 'sun', around the maker's initial 'R' with an annulet on either side, with linear rays emanating from it, decorating part of this half of the sphere. Each ray consists of two or three parallel incised lines, which may have curved into a rounded terminal, but these are now missing. There would have been a metal ball clapper w…

An incomplete cast copper alloy single-loop buckle, dating from the Medieval period, c.1350-1500. The buckle frame is trapezoidal in shape with some engraved transverse oblique grooves on the outer edge which acted as a pin rest but the pointed end of the pin is missing. What remains of the pin is wrapped around the axis bar, which would have tapered towards the opposite bar. Whitehead (1996) illustrates a similar example on p.30, no.170, which is dated from c.1350-1500.

The frame is has a squared-off inner edge and a curved outer edge with a D-shaped section. It is unclear if the rest of the frame would have been a similar rectangular loop or something larger with perhaps a different shape, making it asymmetrical. Cast copper alloy Roman seal box lid, lozenge-shaped in plan with cross-hatching of twenty-five lozenge-shaped cells for enamel. Some light blue-green enamel survives in a few of the cells.
