A base silver contemporary copy of a silver Roman denarius of Hadrian (AD 117-138), dating from the period AD 134-138 (Reece period 6). PIETAS AVG reverse type depicting Pietas draped, seated left on throne, holding patera in extended right hand and sceptre in left. Mint of Rome.

The coin appears to be a copy, judging from the lettering, particularly the misshapen O in COS on the obverse and the V of AVG on the reverse, which is of curiously curvy style, and would not happen on a genuine coin (David H…
