Fragment of a Post-medieval moulded pewter bridle boss dating from the 17th century. The fragment is 42 mm in length, 33 mm in width, 2.5 mm in thickness and 8.5 g in weight. The fragment consists of one incomplete and three largely complete lobed knops of a multifoil bridle-boss, together with one radial arm. The knops are sub-triangular, 11 mm in height and 10 mm wide at the base and are integral with the remnant of an annular band 5 mm wide. A cast lead alloy vesica-shaped personal seal matrix dated from the Medieval period (c.1200-1400). The design on the face of the matrix is an eight-petalled flower in the centre surrounded by inscriptions on both sides which are quite worn but some of the letters can be made out: [S'] M [F]ILLII [.]OVA The matrix is flat with an integral suspension loop which extends to 7 mm proud of the back of the matrix, with one edge is damaged and the perforation now full of corrosion product but originally about 4 mm in diameter. Incomplete cast lead alloy cloth seal with a stylised root plant on the obverse with five stems with petals on the obverse, perhaps representing the madder root which was used to dye clothing. The reverse has four circumferential grooves on it in one half and the other half is covered by the other disc and folded strip so is illegible. Egan (1995) illustrates a similar weavers or searchers personal seal with a stylised root plant with five roseate flowers on the obverse and an illegible reverse on page 184, fig.33, no.250, which is dated from the 17th century.

Incomplete cast lead alloy candle holder. The upper bowl which contained the candle is tulip shaped with moulded petal decoration on its sides. The everted rim of the bowl is 40 mm in diameter whilst the candle holder's total height in its incomplete state is 68 mm. Below the bowl there is a circumferential collar, 24 mm in diameter, around the neck which is 17 mm in diameter. Its base is broken but looks to be spherical, potentially suggesting it was part of a larger candelabrum or tall candlestick. Cast pewter belt stiffener, in the form of a fleur de lis, with two integral pointed lugs at the back. At the wider end there is a trefoil terminal with rounded bifid knops on either side of a central pointed knop. At the narrower end of the mount is a pointed terminal with a slight collar. The body of the mount has parallel straight sides. The two lugs on the back of the mount are broken and about 4 mm long. Read (2001) illustrates similar mounts with trefoil terminals on pages 35-6, figs.20-21, nos.299 & 316, which are both dated from the 17th century.

There is a hole in the centre of the lid and a notch on either edge between two knops which are the bases of two side loops that were originally attached on either side. Cast pewter flat one-piece button with the base of an integral undrilled shank that is 2 mm in diameter on the back. The upper face of the button is decorated with ring of eighteen raised pellets as a border around a plain, slightly domed interior. An early 20th century cast lead alloy seal from a Johnny Walker whiskey bottle or case. The seal displays the arms and crest of Kilmarnock on both faces, consisting of a shield with squirrels as supports, and a crest of a hand of benediction above. Incomplete cast pewter tablespoon stem with a moulded central ridge that runs along the length of the stem from the break to the terminal. There are three marks on the back of the stem, a crown, surmounted by an 'X' and above that, a vessel with a stem and bifid sides within a shield, but there is more above within the border of the shield that has worn away. The X should be crowned and then would be a quality mark, but here the X is above the crown. Cast lead alloy knop or finial for a walking stick or cane with moulded decoration tha spirals from a central point at the apex of the finial to the border at the base of the finial. The border consists of moulded roundels with incised crosses alternating with moulded stars and crescents. The bowl would have originally been oval in plan and less lozenge-shaped, but still elongated in relation to the stem.
