A cast lead alloy vesica-shaped personal seal matrix dated from the Medieval period (c.1200-1400). The design on the face of the matrix is an eight-petalled flower in the centre surrounded by inscriptions on both sides which are quite worn but some of the letters can be made out: [S'] M [F]ILLII [.]OVA The matrix is flat with an integral suspension loop which extends to 7 mm proud of the back of the matrix, with one edge is damaged and the perforation now full of corrosion product but originally about 4 mm in diameter.
