Two greenstone spheroidal hammerstones of Neolithic or Bronze Age date. One is more spheroidal, varying between 53.5 mm and 60 mm in diameter; the surface is fairly smooth and naturally weathered, and its overall shape not been modified. There are several patches of damage on the surface, possibly the result of having been used as a hammerstone, as well several more recent areas of damage, probably caused by the plough. The ball is circular in plan and ovate in profile and section, with pecking on the upper surface and a flattened weathered base. The shape appears to result predominantly from weathering but one side is smoothed and rounded and appears to have been used for grinding. Fragment of a cobble of quartz tourmaline, a late stage alteration of granite, sub-rectangular in plan and trapezoidal in profile. Part of the concave curved surface on the upper face which looks like a polishing surface, has been naturally formed, but the breaks retain evidence of its use as a hammerstone. Roger Taylor comments that this material would work well grinding greenstone, so perhaps it was also used as a polishing stone. Greenstone (dolerite or epidiorite) hammer, ovoid in plan and in profile, slightly expanded at one end, and likely made from a local beach cobble. Both faces has been ground down to a flatter, smoother surface, but neither looks well used. The wear on it may instead be the beginnings of working it into an axe or adze, as it was found close to a rough-out for an axe.
