Broad period: BRONZE AGE
County: Norfolk
Workflow stage: Awaiting validation
Late Bronze Age socketed axe head. Broken across the base of the socket, upper part missing, flaring from the break to a crescentic cutting edge. The surface is very worn, corroded and pitted with only patches of brown patina surviving. There appears to be a median longitudinal arris or rib on both faces, although the level of corrosion makes it difficult to be certain.
Surviving width of cutting edge 48mm. Surviving length 50mm. Surviving thickness 16mm. Weight 99.4g.

1. Socketed axehead. Slightly miscast sub-rectangular mouth with a prominent moulding above a shallow moulding, D-sectioned side loop, rectangular-sectioned body flaring slightly to the curved cutting edge which has slight but probably not very ancient damage. Object type: BARBED AND TANGED ARROWHEAD
Broad period: BRONZE AGE
County: Norfolk
Workflow stage: Awaiting validation
An incomplete Beaker period barbed and tanged arrowhead of semi-translucent fine quality flint with no rough inclusions, now patinated an attractive orange colour. The piece is missing both barbs and the tip with some minor damage to both lateral edges. All breaks appear to be ancient. This is unfortunate as the shape of the barbs are the defining characteristic for Green's typology (1980). Both faces are competently pressure flaked with overlapping flake scars. Although fragmentary it is likely to belong to Conygar Hill, Sutton, or Green Low types of arrowhead. 2300-1700 BC.
