Medieval copper alloy sword pommel of Ward Perkins (1940, 22, fig.2) Type VIII. The inside is partially filled with reduced fired clay Damaged, with part of one side missing and broken across both apertures. Larger rectangular aperture 19 x 9mm. Smaller aperture which has engraved guide lines around the surviving edge, at least 9 x 4mm. Height 44mm. Width 50mm. Thickness 38mm. Weight 71.1g. Circa 1375 - 15th century.

Late Bronze Age incomplete copper alloy sword. Three fragments of blade were found on arable land on both sides of a stream, almost certainly as a result of spreading after dredging. Very corroded showing linear traces of vegetable matter, broken, now in three joining pieces (42 x at least 294mm), heavily notched edges to blade, slightly bent at tip. None of the breaks is recent.

Medieval copper alloy sword or dagger pommel of shortened, hollow 'scent-stopper' form (London Museum Medieval Catalogue, 1967, 43 and fig.9, no.11). Circular, with concave sides. The domed top is divided by six deep v-shaped notches radiating from the edge towards a central irregular hole for the (missing) tang, with six straight grooves defining the edge of each resulting foil. Diameter 36mm. Height 20mm. Similar to an example from Norfolk HER 35831 Tacolneston, Norfolk (Gurney, 2002, 161, fig.7D), and NMS-0C90A0 (Norfolk HER 56838). Second half of the 15th century.

The domed top is divided by six deep v-shaped notches radiating from the edge towards a central circular hole for the tang, with six straight grooves defining the edge of each resulting foil. Similar to an example from HER 35831 Tacolneston, Norfolk (Gurney, 2002, 161, fig.7D). Diameter 32mm. Height 17mm. c. 1450 - 1500.

Two joining fragments of Late Bronze Age sword blade. Lenticular-section, parallel sided, the cutting edge completely missing. The breaks at either end are fairly granular, the joining break cleaner and granular but corroded. Surviving length 96mm. Width 38.5mm. Thickness 7mm. Circa 1000 - 800 BC.

Unusual medieval or post-medieval sword pommel, oval-sectioned trefoil-shaped, the side lobes are rather small, decorated with horizontal bands of short engraved lines between long slightly oblique vertical dividing lines, vertical sub-rectangular perforation contains remains of iron tang (corroded plug-like fragment detached from lower end). Width 38mm. Length 32mm. Width 19mm. 15th-16th century.
