Medieval copper alloy mount. Flat-sectioned, openwork quatrefoil with elongated lozengiform projection between each foil on outside edge. Gilded and engraved on both faces with grooves radiating from between each foil. No rivet holes or visible means of attachment. Broken on one edge. Very similar to a mount forming part of an unidentified object from Suffolk (NMS-7F1F93) and also to openwork mounts around the edge of a 15th century processional cross in the Victoria and Albert Museum (136-1879).
