A tremissis or pseudo-tremissis of the 7th century, which has been pierced and gilded for use as a pendant. The tremissis is a coin type widely issued by the Merovingian Franks in this period, but also produced by the Anglo-Saxons and Frisians. Such coins were produced in fairly good gold at the beginning of the century, but with the gold contained declining as the century progressed, with the gold increasingly replaced by silver. Incomplete gold sheet object, comprising two joining fragments, probably an earring of Roman date. It is in the shape of a round-shouldered or 'kite-shaped' shield, bent (and probably folded and then unfolded), with three vertical creases and broken along two probable horizontal creases. There is a small perforated lug in the same plane at the apex. The pointed lower end of the shield is missing, and approximately just over half survives. A gold posy ring, D-shaped in section. Inscribed internally 'Loue i,s' the bond of peace' with a stamped, worn makers mark consisting of HB (ligatured) stamped in relief within a square. Tiny traces of possible niello survive in some of the letters. The marks on either side of the s may be unintentional as, although clear, they are slightly irregular. The lettering is similar to that on an example from Firle, East Sussex (Treasure Annual Report 2004, 296, fig. 315), dated 1696. External diameter 20mm, internal diameter 16.5mm. Width of band 4mm Weight 5.24g.

Mourning ring. Gold D-sectioned band, slightly oval, measuring externally 20 x 21mm, 4.5mm wide. Engraved on the outside with a skull, two flowers and one half flower between which are leaves. Traces of black enamel survive. Inscribed internally 'G A ob 26 May 98' and a stamped maker's mark EH within a square. Iron Age coin hoard consisting of two gold staters. Both are Norfolk wolf staters, so-called JB types with a left facing wolf (Cottam et al 2010, Ancient British Coinage, p.78, no.1399). The two coins were found approximately 40 yards apart and they must represent part of a dispersed coin hoard. The larger, paler example weighs 5.14g, the smaller, darker coin 5.27g. The coins were made between about 50-20 BC. Date of loss of deposition will have been in the closing decades of the first century BC, c.30-10BC
