Roman 'Brancaster type' gold finger ring. Flattened D-sectioned band expanding smoothly to two integral transverse projections which support the separate soldered, engraved rectangular bezel, leaving a transverse rectangular aperture below. The bezel is now slightly distorted at an angle to the band.

Gold pendant. Sub-triangular, hollow, originally rectangular sectioned but now concave on both faces. The front and back plate and double ribbed suspension loop are formed from the same piece of metal sheet folded over, with a separate double ribbed repoussé sheet forming the sides, the ends of which join under the loop. Filigree decoration in the form of six closely spaced 'S' shaped scrolls not arranged symmetrically, and a length of wire following the edge of the pendant with inward curled ends near the top, is fused to the surface. Fragment, probably from an Iron Age torc or bracelet, or a Roman bracelet. Two circular-sectioned strands of gold, each tapering slightly from one cut end to the other, twisted around each other. Total length 39mm. Diameter of strands at narrow end circa 2.5mm, diameter at the thicker end circa 3.5 - 4mm. Weight 7.5g. For potentially similar examples see PAS-845331 (Iron Age torc), SWYOR-CFE7F7 (Iron Age bracelet) and a 3rd-century bracelet in the collections of the British Museum (museum number 1883,1213.375).

Fragment of probable Middle or Late Bronze Age gold sheet strip or ribbon ornament decorated on one face with eleven longitudinal grooves. One end has been cut transversely or broken neatly, while the other convex end is apparently complete although crumpled and split across a single piercing.
Width 10mm. Thickness less than 1mm. Length (unbent) c. 48mm. Weight 3.1g.

Fragment of gold sheet strip, one straight end complete, the other missing. Throughout its length one long edge is folded over by 1 - 1.5mm. Eight longitudinal grooves cover the remainder of the object apart from a narrow strip along the other edge, which was probably once also folded over. Possibly Bronze Age.

Medieval gold finger ring. Elliptical-sectioned band expanding very slightly from the rear to the bezel which is formed from a D-shaped collet with bi-concave sides, now slightly damaged and empty. The hoop is decorated externally with a zigzag line with multiple stamped annulets filling the resulting triangular fields, separated at either end from the plain rear of the hoop by two transverse lines. Description: Triangular gold sheet with a straight short edge, one slightly curved long edge and one straight long edge. There are two empty holes punched through from one face at the short edge, and two punched through from the opposite face near the rounded point, one of which is through the long straight edge.

Incomplete medieval gold finger ring. An oval collet forms a bezel, the upper half with sloping, concave sides, the lower half with flat sloping sides. The narrow, broken and slightly distorted hoop is oval-sectioned, expanding slightly at the shoulders to small triangular bosses at the join between the hoop and the bezel. There is no trace of engraved decoration and the rear of the hoop is missing.
When found, the collet contained a red or pink stone, presumebaly glass, which had sunk into the collect. The stone was accidentally damaged and the fragments lost during examination.

The cross may mark the start of the inscription, with an eight petalled flower or star separating the other words. There is no trace of enamel or niello surviving.

Description: Openwork cube, the edges formed from lengths of beaded wire with each face divided into four triangular apertures by two pieces of beaded wire connecting opposing corners. Medieval gold finger ring. The bezel is in the form of an irregular pentagonal collet retaining a pale grey chalking substance at the base, but no stone. The plain, pointed oval-sectioned band, now distorted, tapers slightly from the collet to the rear. There are no marks.
Width of bezel 11.5mm x 10mm. Height 7mm. External diameter of ring (reconstructed) circa 20mm. Weight 3.2g.
