Iron Age socketed terminal mount in the form of a bull's head. Circular-sectioned socket filled with orange-stained soil, perhaps from iron corrosion, with four evenly spaced rivet holes between two very fine engraved lines around the edge. One of the rivet holes is broken through and there is a ragged crack extending 11mm from the edge, possibly caused by internal corrosion forcing the socket apart. Very unusual Late Iron Age to early Roman iron and copper alloy composite linch pin with bent and corroded square-sectioned shank (14 x 14mm), pelta-shaped openwork head and foot with discoidal terminal. 59 silver denarii ranging in date from issues of the Roman Republic to those of Tiberius. The coins were found scattered over a relatively small area and clearly represent part of a hoard scattered by agricultural activity. Wear patterns are consistent with this, the older coins generally being the most worn. Dating is difficult and one's initial reaction is to connect this hoard to the Roman invasion of AD43. However, the latest coins, those of Tiberius, still show some wear and had plainly circulated for a number of years. It seems more likely, on the balance of probabilities, that …

A hoard consisting of two terrets and a mount. 1. A complete oval winged or lipped terret. The attachment bar is recessed and rectangular in section with circular mouldings at either end. The circular-sectioned ring, which tapers from either side of the attachment bar to the apex, has three wing or lip like mouldings, the one at the apex being slightly smaller than those to either side. The edge of each of the lipped mouldings is decorated with a cable moulded rib. Two copper alloy objects additional to a dispersed hoard discovered in 2004 and reported as 2004 T301. Copper alloy terret ring with inset rectangular sectioned attachment bar flanked on either side by vertical discs. A piece of gold wire made from four strands twisted. The wire was made from 4 smaller wires (diameter c. 2.4 mm) twisted together in a clockwise spiral giving an overall diameter for the twisted wire of 5 mm. The wire piece weighs 7.24g and is 20mm long (unstraightened). The fragment appears to have been cut from a larger piece of wire at one end, although the other end appears to be a break. Analysis shows these wires are made of over 80% gold.

This group of three later Iron Age copper alloy objects recovered from near King's Lynn, Norfolk comprises two enamelled flat-ring terrets and a miscellaneous flat ring terret. The terrets are of the same type, however, one is in relatively good condition, being nearly complete and the other is in three pieces with a part missing. The complete terret has a rectangular sectioned attachment bar that is flanked on either end with moulded collars each decorated with a median groove.
