Post-medieval scissors. Oval finger loop with off-set, rectangular-sectioned stem decorated with crosshatched panels and rabbets before expanding before a break. There is a possible iron rivet before the break, but iron corrosion covers most of the expanded end of the handle / start of the blade. Loop 23 x 20mm. Total surviving length (including loop) 63mm. Several very similar examples have been recorded, see NARC3254, NMS-52C987, SUR-852F37 and CORN-C6BF43. Probably late 17th - 18th century.
