Roman flat, gold openwork link or part of clasp, probably from a necklace or similar item of jewellery. Formed from rectangular-sectioned cut strips of gold, an originally oval or circular frame around three pelta-shaped strips arranged with curved backs meeting in the centre and spiralled ends touching the frame. There is a circular suspension loop on the outside of the frame at one end retaining a fragment of knotted circular-sectioned wire, and a broken loop at the opposite end. Surviving length 17mm.
