Medieval copper alloy folding strap clasp. Rectangular frame with concave sides with transverse ridges at either end. Folding end, recessed for frame, with separate riveted transverse bar mount. Rectangular plate folded widthways, recessed slightly for frame, with single rivet at attachment edge. Frame 15 x 18mm. Plate 29 x 15mm. 13th - 15th century.

Medieval copper alloy strap clasp. Rectangular plate, folded widthways with single rivet at attachment edge. Sheet frame with separate inserted bar, rectangular folding end with c-sectioned mount secured by a single rivet. There is a line of rockerarm engraved on the folding end parallel with the mount. The frame is folded back over the plate and stuck with corrosion. Frame 13 x 15mm. Plate 11 x 18mm. 13th - 14th century.

Medieval copper alloy plate for strap-fitting or clasp, or strap-end. Rectangular plate folded widthways to form looped end with no recess for a frame or slot or hole for a pin. Five rivet holes, two retaining rivets at attchment edge, with a pair of parallel lines forming a border around the edge on both faces. Measuring 34 x 13mm. 12th - 14th century.

Incomplete copper alloy medieval folding strap clasp. Incomplete rectangular frame, the sides and bar formed from sheet pierced for separate (missing) roller. The bar is recessed for the rectangular sheet plate, folded widthways, recessed for the frame, with a single rivet at attachment edge. Front-plate is decorated with a border of paralelle lines with angled paralelle lines between forming zig-zags. One side of frame, roller and folding end missing. Frame 15 x 12mm. Plate 28 x 12mm. For a similar example see Egan and Pritchard (2002, 119, fig.78, no.566). 14th - 15th century.
