Description: Unidentified silver object, possibly a mount, complete but in two refitting pieces. The object is cruciform in shape, comprising a central rectangular panel from which project four animal-heads, forming the arms of the cross. One animal-head has broken off at the neck and is now separate; two are bent inwards at 90 degrees to the central panel, and the fourth is almost straight with a slight inward curve. Post-medieval silver bodkin or headdress pin. Rectangular-sectioned, tapering to the blunt point, broken across the rectangular slot at the upper end, the terminal missing. Decorated alike on both faces with two transverse lines below the slot from the lower of which multiple longitudinal engraved lines descend, lengthening towards the centre. Post-medieval copper alloy spur fragment. Oval-sectioned bar broken either side of the neck, with a shallow groove following the upper external edge, which is pointed above the neck. The down-tured neck consists of a globular moulding and double grooves before the incomplete rowel box which is broken before the attachment for the (missing) rowel. Surviving wdth 46mm. Rectangular attachmnt loop below which the plate is decorated with two groups of four symetrically placed openwork apertures separated by a worn, moulded element above a V-shaped rib in low relief, the point of which terminates at the springing of the incomplete collared hook. The decoration is worn but very similar to better preserved examples recorded on the PAS database, including LIN-E98142, LIN-6900E0 and LVPL-702595. See also Read (2008), 104, no.402 - 404. Medieval copper alloy rowel from spur with 24 radiating arms, each of which is rectangular-sectioned with bevelled edges, expanding slightly to pointed terminals. The arms are conjoined for about half thier length with a central, sub-oval hole, possibly of irregular shape as a result of wear. Traces of tinning survive on both faces. Maximum diameter 73.5mm.
