Polished axe in dark grey mottled glossy flint with negligible patination. Polished extensively on one face from the broad blade up the central area to the square butt and with one lateral edge rounded slightly along its whole length, the other only toward the butt. The opposed face is only polished at the extreme edge of the cutting edge and is otherwise neatly finished by shallow re-touch flaking. In the centre are two pairs of transverse grooves with a pair of semi-circular indentations ('notches') in between, together forming a square panel. Above and below this there are rectangular panels with bevelled edges, running to square panels at the terminals. Each of these has traces of transverse lines obscured by a corroded iron rivet. Late Bronze Age incomplete copper alloy sword. Three fragments of blade were found on arable land on both sides of a stream, almost certainly as a result of spreading after dredging. Very corroded showing linear traces of vegetable matter, broken, now in three joining pieces (42 x at least 294mm), heavily notched edges to blade, slightly bent at tip. None of the breaks is recent.

There are slight traces of vertical grooves on the bow which expands towards the break where most of what would have been a triangular fantail and catch-plate are missing. , 16 x 29mm. This brooch can be dated from the second half of the 1st century into the mid 2nd century.

A cast copper alloy Roman figurine of a ram. It is well modelled with the raised head turned slightly to one side. It has curling horns, incised pointed oval shaped eyes and details on the horns and coat with a scalloped skirt around body. The recessed underside is roughly finished and has a small rectangular central depression. The legs and tail are broken. It is 42mm in length and at least 35mm wide.
The ram and the goat are cult emblems of Mercury and either can be shown accompanying the god (Green 1978, 26).

Late Saxon copper alloy trefoil strap or harness fitting, worn and corroded, cast with simple and rather crude decoration of slight triangular central boss with three dots within incised bordering line, and dot at each point outside line, each foil has deep bordering line and single dot near central boss, reverse of each foil with rectangular scar from missing lugs and traces of iron corrosion, 45mm across, thickness 3mm, weighs 19.28g. This does not have obviously Scandinavian or Anglo-Scandinavian decoration and may be of continental origin. 9th century.

Medieval asymmetrical double-looped buckle, one small (17mm wide) rectangular loop and one much larger (26mm wide) internally bevelled oval loop with pin constriction and notch on outside edge. Length 30mm. Tapering pin, in an alloy now paler green, with rounded sides and transverse moulding, probably once slightly raised but now worn flat, next to the loop. There is a small offset between the moulding and the loop, the width reducing from 5mm to 4mm on the loop. . Cf. a larger example in Fingerlin (1971) no.321, Kat. Nr.65.
