'Handaxe' Dimensions 102 x 62 x 56mm. In blackish flint and of roughly plano-convex section, this biface can be considered as having a rounded butt end and an opposed pointed end, It has a small area of thin weathered cortex on the narrow crest but is otherwise flaked overall. With the pointed end away from the observer, the right side face is formed by two large flake removals and two smaller, the left face by one large removal and several smaller ones. A complete Neolithic chisel or pick-like implement of unpatinated mottled grey flint with some small areas of spotty iron staining. The piece is an elongated thin butted form with an ovoid cutting edge with no trace of grinding or polishing, all flake scars are hard hammer struck.
