Late medieval or post-medieval silver, gilded incomplete mount or badge in the form of a cherubic figure standing over a probable beast, serpent or dragon. The figure's right arm is raised and broken before the elbow, the left arm by its side, possibly reaching for the beast, the head inclined slightly towards the beast, the right leg broken at the knee. Post-medieval silver thimble. Domed crown soldered to angled sides now partly separated, squashed, cracked and missing part of the lower edge. A border around the base is defined by a pair of engraved lines above and below, plain apart from the engraved letters AG. The rest of the sides and crown are covered in closely spaced annulets. On the inside edge there is a stamped indecipherable maker's mark. See Holmes, 1976, 15, fig.6b and d and 19, fig.9 for similar examples. Late 16th - 17th century. Height 23mm. Weight 4.4g.

Late Georgian or 19th century button cover, central domed boss surrounded by a flange decorated with an outer row of (machine?) stamped circles and an inner row of possible stamped rectangles leaving a ridge between each stamp. The flange is broken in two places with just under a quarter missing in total. Traces of white metal coating survive on the upper face. Diameter 16mm. Height 5mm. Slightly irregular rectangular-sectioned bar with chamfered corners (forming an octagonal-section with alternate wide and very narrow faces), cut at one end, with a more recent granular break at the other. There are file marks over most of the surface and cut end, but no hammer marks. Surviving length 17.5mm, width 7 x 7mm. Weight 6.6g (102.2gn).

Medieval copper alloy probable strap fitting. Irregularly faceted-sectioned bar with straight outside edge, the ends bent at right-angles to form straight sides which expand slightly to the transversely pierced terminals. There are file marks over much of the surface with traces of white metal coating, probably tinning. Measuring 10.5 x 31mm. Thickness of bar 3mm. Perhaps a composite strap loop, buckle or pendant loop with unusual attachment (see Egan and Pritchard, 2002, 235. Fig.150, nos.1266 and 1267 for strap loops, and 223, fig.140 for pendant loops). Circa 13th - 14th century.

Engraved M•B on the front at the terminal, the first down strokes of both letters filled with angled lines, with stamped marks before the break the only legible one of which is a lion passant with front paw raised. Circular-sectioned frame with four evenly spaced globular brambled bosses around the frame, one of which originally concealed the join in the frame, now slightly distorted and just visible. Medieval copper alloy scabbard chape. Bi-concave upper edge on the front and back face, the resulting exaggerated central projection broken. Tapering to a blunt terminal, with a shallow transverse rib on one face and a transverse groove across the base. Both faces are decorated with ring-and-dot, five on one face and six on the other. The chape is filled with corroded iron which has forced a split in the side. Surviving length 33mm. Width 20mm. Similar to 12th century examples in de Reuck (1991, 3, 6 and 9).
