Early Saxon escutcheon plate and suspension ring from a vessel, perhaps from a hanging bowl, but more probably to hold a drop handle.
Incomplete silver escutcheon plate expanding from a transverse break to form points to either side before inward curving shoulders which continue smoothly to form an integral loop which has a wide D-profile longitudinal median groove and is turned outwards to meet the front of the plate. Copper alloy one-piece sprung bow brooch. Two coils of the spring survive, pin missing, flat-sectioned bow tapering to foot with solid triangular catch-plate broken at the fold on reverse. Bow decorated with a pair of longitudinal grooves each with mutiple transverse angled lines accross them, and two pairs of transverse grooves accross the foot. Length 27mm. Unidentified copper alloy object. Flat-sectioned narrow rectangular bar now bent into an S-shape, with shallow or worn transverse grooves and small notches along the edges. Broken at one end, terminating at the other is an irregular quatrefoil with two smaller foils next to the bar and two larger foils at the end. The foils are separated by concave recesses and each foil has two tiny notches on the edge. The edges of the terminal are chamfered and apart from slight damage to one foil, are complete with no breaks. Traces of probable solder on the reverse of the terminal.

Copper alloy propeller-shaped belt stiffener, sub-circular centre between flaring trapezoidal terminals, one of which is missing, with a prominant rectangular-sectioned, median, longitudinal rib terminating ina piercing in the surviving flared terminal retaining a copper alloy rivet. 4th century but such objects occur in Early Anglo-Saxon contexts (Macgregor and Bolick 1993, 210 and 212, cat. nos. 36.8 and 9). Length 32mm, reconstructed 50mm. Width 17mm.

Description: Early Anglo-Saxon biconical gold bead made from a single spiral of plain unbeaded wire which measures c. 0.4-0.5mm in diameter. The wire is the only component of the the bead - there is no internal backplate - and the bead appears to have been heated, perhaps in the presence of solder, to slightly fuse the turns of the spiral.

Incomplete medieval copper alloy composite buckle. Expanded convex outside edge with radiating engraved lines and one deep transverse groove. Only a short section on the flat-sectioned sides survive, broken across circular piercings for the separate (missing) bar. Length 23mm. Width 18mm. Post-medieval copper alloy clasp. Eye-plate, rectangular, with rectangular slot flanked by transverse ribs with angled lines imitating cabling. The rest of the plate ihas multiple notches and semicircular apertures along each long edge and with engraved cabling on the short edge, and one large central circular hole and two empty rivet holes. Two circular projections each with a circular aperture project from one side. Read's unclassified toggle-clasp Type 1 or Type 2 (2008, 209, no.755 and 756). 16th - 17th century.
Length 50mm. Width 26mm. Slot 14 x 6mm.
