Middle Bronze Age, 1400-1200 BC. Measuring >30 x >113mm. Fragment of copper alloy rapier. The blade is broken at both ends with the remains of two rivet-holes in the hafting-plate. There is a flat median rib and the edges are damaged. A palstave (without loop, with a shield pattern on the blade which is defined on the sides by shoulders, measuring 135mm long, blade width 64mm, max. width of butt 22mm. Cf. Savory, 1980, 169, fig.21, no.148 for a similar example) was found at the same site in 1990, and it is therefore possible that these two items are part of a hoard.

Incomplete medieval silver finger ring. Rectangular bezel with a diagonally set cross-crosslets filled with niello and a tiny tear-drop shaped blind hole in each of the central internal angles. At the edge on each side of the bezel there are two short indentations or dashes. The oval-sectioned broken hoop survives on one side only with multiple transverse cracks resulting from bending, and a longitudinal internal groove probably the result of hammering the edges. A gold posy ring, D-shaped in section. Inscribed internally 'Loue i,s' the bond of peace' with a stamped, worn makers mark consisting of HB (ligatured) stamped in relief within a square. Tiny traces of possible niello survive in some of the letters. The marks on either side of the s may be unintentional as, although clear, they are slightly irregular. The lettering is similar to that on an example from Firle, East Sussex (Treasure Annual Report 2004, 296, fig. 315), dated 1696. External diameter 20mm, internal diameter 16.5mm. Width of band 4mm Weight 5.24g.

Incomplete silver finger ring with deep purpleish red, opaque glass "cabochon" setting in a transverse oval bezel between shoulders decorated with short engraved lines. The dostorted hoop, part of which is missing, widens slightly to the shoulders. It is flattened on the reverse and convex on the front while one edge is straight sided. Orriginal diameter uncertain. Bezel is 16 x 12mm. 14th century. Oman (1993) 67, cat. no. 258.

Silver gilt finger ring with double facetted bezel and hoop. Cracked across bezel, hoop broken and partly straightened out. The bezel is decorated with incised oblique lines, the pattern now worn, damaged and rather obscure. Incised lines in a chevron pattern on both shoulders. Possibly Roman or Anglo-Saxon. A silver circular sectioned ring and rectangular sectioned double spiked loop, probably from furniture or a vessel. The loop around the ring is straight sided, with decoration comprising of four longitudinal ribs. The two pointed ends narrow from the base of the loop, and have only a small gap between them so that together they form a short spike.
