Probably a medieval buckle of unusual form. Copper alloy sheet cut and bent to form two parallel sides and outside edge. The sides, one of which is incomplete and both of which are now bent flat to the back of the buckle, were pierced twice to hold two (missing) bars, iron corrosion from which surrounds one of the surviving holes. Medieval copper alloy swivel for the attachment of a leash consisting of two rings, both with moulded animal heads clasping a boss. One of these, slightly flatter at the rear, has an integral shank on which the other turns. The two elements still swivel freely. Zoomorphic terminals are quite typical: a recent survey of medieval swivels from Norfolk indicated that twenty-four out of thirty-four examples were so decorated. Such objects were probably used with hounds (Ashley 2006, 105, fig. 1 no.2). Length 46mm. Width 26mm. Internal diameter 16-16.5mm. 12th century.

Incomplete La Téne I type brooch, comprising remains of three coils of broken spring at top of oval sectioned bow with median groove, foot with a side extension forming the catch-plate, and narrowing and curving back on itself to terminate in a stylized animal head consisting of an oval disc with a snout. There is a single stamped dot in the centre of the top of the animal head. Length 40mm, width of bow at max. 5mm, depth of bow at max. 4mm. Similar to an example in Hattatt (2000, 288, fig.147, no.725) and another from Fring (HER 23001). 4th-3rd century BC.

Domed sexfoil harness mount with square-sectioned shank in the centre of the reverse. The gilt front is decorated in cast relief with a central multifoil and six-pointed star with concave sides and with each point ending a lobe at the edge. Between the lobes the edge is marked with scrolled foliar motifs. Punched dots covered all spaces between the raised elements. In very fresh condition but with some fresh damage. Diameter 49mm. Length of shank 10mm. Overall length 14mm. 17th - 18th century.

Incomplete small-long brooch, most of footplate missing. Leeds 1945 cross potent type. Entirely plain headplate. Rectangular panel forming facets at top and base of hollow-backed bow, both panels with a single transverse groove. Single median groove on bow. Single transverse groove at top of footplate. On reverse a widely spaced double pin lug with remains of iron pin bar and spring, and stub of catchplate. The break across the upper end of the footplate is not ancient, and cuts through the footplate stub. Length at least 46mm. Width 26mm. Late 5th century.

Fragment of gilt copper alloy mount, apparently flat, with one curved edge original, the others broken. A large oval collet, now empty, rises from the decorated face. Engraved decoration consists of a band of foliar ornament of tendrils and spirals next to the curved edge, and around the base of the collet of a zig-zag pattern formed from closely spaced chevrons. The original shape of the object is uncertain. Possibly a book mount, but rather too thick and heavy duty. Surviving dimensions 31.5 x 28.5mm. Thickness 1.5mm. Collet 22.5 x 15mm, height 4.5mm. Perhaps 12th century.

Late Saxon copper alloy tinned weight, polyhedral, rectangular-sectioned square with corners cut-off (13 x 13mm, 11mm thick), engraved bordering lines on each of the facets, opposed larger faces with tapering perforation, single dot on each of the remaining facets. Weighing 13.32g / 205.2 grains. This weight is less than 0.01% overweight for three of one of the three postulated weight units (4.43g) of the Late Saxon period. (Kruse 1992, 80).
