Post medieval copper alloy dress fastener eye plate. Oval plate with (broken) rectangular loop, three attachment knops pierced and filled with iron corrosion and two decorative knops around the edge. The plate is decorated with possibly foliate motif within an oval border. Very similar to Read's Class A, Type 8 (2008, 175, no.663 and 664). Length 36mm. Width 21.5mm. c. 1550 - 1700. A4.
