Late Saxon fragment of copper alloy bird-shaped brooch, broken openwork with remains of S-shaped bird in Ringerike/Urnes-style, remains of pierced lug on reverse. Cf. Pedersen (1999) figs.1-3. Second half of the 11th century. Other examples of this type of bird brooch on the PAS database include NLM5638, SUSS-44F203, SF-7B3CA5, SF-BCC403, BERK-5DED86, NMS-E7F720, KENT-9F6987, BERK-CEBC67 and SF-AD5FA7.

Polished axe in dark grey mottled glossy flint with negligible patination. Polished extensively on one face from the broad blade up the central area to the square butt and with one lateral edge rounded slightly along its whole length, the other only toward the butt. The opposed face is only polished at the extreme edge of the cutting edge and is otherwise neatly finished by shallow re-touch flaking. Copper-alloy bar from an early Anglo-Saxon sleeve-clasp. In the centre are two pairs of transverse grooves with a pair of semi-circular indentations ('notches') in between, together forming a square panel. Above and below this there are rectangular panels with bevelled edges, running to square panels at the terminals. Each of these has traces of transverse lines obscured by a corroded iron rivet.
