Extremely worn or broken and worn edges, uncertain whether originally recessed for (missing) frame, broken across slot or hole for (missing) pin. No surviving back-plate. Two dome-headed rivets with gilding surviving around them and traces of probable engraved decoration. Surviving length 12mm. Surviving width 23mm. 12th - 15th century.

Medieval copper alloy buckle-plate. Rectangular plate with a narrowed slotted projection folded to form the recess for the (missing) frame and slot for (missing) pin, the rounded end riveted to the front-plate with a single dome-headed rivet. There is a second dome-headed rivet through a multifoil terminal at the attachment end, perhaps intended to be a fleur-de-lis. The rectangular plate is decorated with an engraved rectangular field of lozenges, each with a short line eminating from one angle. Gilded. Length 37.5mm. Width 16mm.

Very wide, angled outside edge with an engraved single line border around the edge and traces of further engraved decoration, now almost completely obscured by wear and corrosion. Tiny traces of gilding. Measuring 26 x 33mm.Similar to examples in Whitehead (2003,20, no.66 and 67) but probably 12th - 13th century.

Rectangular plate, recessed for frame, slot for pin, folded widthways with a single, large rivet. Two engraved transverse lines across and imediately behind the pin slot. Traces of gilding survive on the frame and plate. Buckle 25 x 28mm. Plate 33 x 20mm.
The frame and plate are of unusually substantial construction. 13th - 14th century.
